GEMS Personal Development Program

We welcome any pregnant woman, mother of infant/toddler children or the father of the baby to participate in the Pregnancy Center’s G.E.M.S. Program. Through this program, we aim to support you throughout your pregnancy and after birth, through a combination of education and material assistance. Our classes cover topics related to pregnancy, baby care and personal development.

Here is how it works:

  • At your initial visit, you and your client advocate will design a program of classes that will benefit you as you travel this journey of pregnancy, parenting, or just trying to better your current relationships. After your class (appointment) is over, you will be able to visit our Boutique, which houses all of our material supplies so that you can begin to collect parenting and/or baby supplies. These classes are offered either individually or as a group.
  • Layettes boxes, date packs, or personal care bags are earned upon the completion of 6 sessions.
  • Furniture and supply items are given after the 5th month of pregnancy and require participating in a class.
  • Cribs, bassinets and car seats are given out after the 7th month of pregnancy and require participating in a class.
  • A GEMS appointment will last approximately 60 minutes.

Infant children may accompany their parent to all GEMS appointments. To ensure a meaningful experience for all of our clients, non-infant children may accompany their parents to appointments only while they are able to demonstrate good behavior: quiet voices, no running, staying in assigned room/space.

Details of each of the classes are available at both of our centers. As always, our desire is to help you in a meaningful way. If you have a specific need, please let us know; we’ll do our best to locate a resource to help you. All of our services are free and confidential, so please call us or stop in today!
